    This is damage "per hit" (per 10 hp). It seems I can only best your unarmed butt. But that's okay, this is the beginning!

    I think your plan of action is actually to slow the rate of catching rather than rank up, as my ranks come pretty effortlessly as I rise to new strengths. >=D

    I already have enough gold for the Q4 tier 2 gym. Are we abandoning the idea of producing our own Q6 or Q7 weapons?

    According to my data the wiki, this is the most accurate formula for damage:
    (rank + 5)×(str + 400)×(1 + Q/5)/200,
    where Q = firepower/20, so Q7 actually behaves like Q = 10.

    No surprises here. Training boosts damage more when your rank is higher.

    Edit:
    The formula I conjectured from data is actually for health loss inflicted on the enemy.
    30 + (str - enemyStr)/20 + (Q - enemyQ)×2,
    where enemyQ = 5 for a bazooka.

    Predicting the amount of energy needed to reach a certain number of kills comes down to predicting enemy stats.

    Interesting...well, that's the number they gave me, people must've figured it out sooner. I might want you to figure out the health lost formula for battles then. =P

    It seems that equation matched one of my test cases, neat-o. =P

    As for health loss, yeah, it'd be nice to find the exact formula.
    Someone with similar strength to me, for example, would be doing 100 health to me with a Q7, whereas someone with a good 170 or 180 strength over me? I may be clocking in 700 health lost or so (and finishing with a Q7 to mislead the system to 70+ hits of Q7).

    Safe to say though, if you show up more often and with more Q7s, you're making someone's DO harder to fill. =)

    Enemy at full health, with 180 more strength and a Q7? Not cool. If you're unarmed:
    HP damage = 30 - 180/20 - 10×2 = 1
    The exact value is slightly higher. Even if we estimate 1.04, it would take 100/1.04 rounded up = 97 hits. 970 energy, what madness!

    I haven't been able to mislead the influence system. If I attack 4 times unarmed and finish with a Q7 hit, the influence I get is 4×(Q0 damage) + 1×(Q7 damage).
